We are looking for a driven Program manager

Your mission.

As a Program Manager you are (primary) responsible for managing our projects and overseeing the realization of our development goals. You will keep us focused on the must haves to accelerate our technology development. As an experienced project manager, you bring transformational leadership, R&D management experience and structure. You expand the capabilities of the team by establishing agile best practices. You monitor planning, scope, resources, risks and deliverables, drawing in colleagues where needed and keeping stakeholders informed along the way. This role will be primarily based in Amsterdam.

In this role you will:

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Translate our development goals in quarterly objectives and deliverables together with cross-functional team members
  • Keep track of prioritized deliverables (including funding and subsidy milestones)
  • Create transparency on development progress and raise bottlenecks for team problem-solvings and design meetings
  • Implement an agile way of working within the development team, establish meeting rhythm and formats
  • Implement a learning loop and ensure lessons learned are systematically captured
  • Track budgets for each project (R&D hours, subcontractor, and supplier expenses)
  • Review and track deliverables of and contractual agreements with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Keep the team engaged and stakeholders informed
  • Work very closely with the CTO to solve bottlenecks and involve the full team
  • Report to the CTO

About you.

  • You have a Master’s degree in science or engineering, experience in the nuclear field is a plus.
  • You have minimum 5 to 8 years of proven experience in project management
  • You have (agile) R&D experience in a deep-tech development environment, transformation experience would be ideal
  • You are a fast learner that is able to see the bigger picture in complex multi-disciplinary projects
  • You solve problems creatively and know when and how to put other team members into play
  • You are an excellent communicator (clear is kind) in English, both spoken and written
  • You are a hands-on self-starter who likes to work in a multicultural and dynamic environment that is growing fast
  • You like travelling to France ~5 days a month (planning can be flexible)
  • Your experience in contract management would be a plus
  • You have an intrinsic motivation to make an impact and want to contribute to a responsible energy supply

About Thorizon.

Thorizon is a developer of nuclear power solutions. The company designs and creates frontier technology for Molten Salt Reactors (MSR). Thorizon’s purpose is to accelerate the availability of clean energy and help solve the climate crisis.

Thorizon’s reactor design:

  • Generates emission free energy on demand.
  • Reduces nuclear waste streams by using it as fuel in combination with the abundant metal Thorium.
